Boiled Peanuts

An iconic treat straight out of the South. Georgia peanuts are deliciously addicting when the are boiled!

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds raw peanuts in the shell
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • water
Instructions
  1. Rinse the peanuts well.

  2. Place the spices in a large kettle. Fill it half way with water to dissolve. 

  3. Add the peanuts to the pot and fill to the top with water.

  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium. Cover and boil for 6-8 hours, adding water as needed.

  5. Drain the peanuts and cool slightly. Remove the shells and enjoy the delicious peanuts inside.
