Ingredients
  • 1 medium baguette
  • 4 large heads fresh garlic, peeled
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cup white wine (I used liebfraumilch)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Start by cutting the baguette into slices about 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick. Lightly toast in a 350° oven. Wrap in foil to keep warm.

  2. And now the garlic -

Heat the butter in a skillet on medium until it's melted. Add the cloves and saute, stirring constantly until the butter starts to brown.

  3. Stir in the wine and simmer until all the cloves are soft and the liquid has reduced.

  4. Smash the garlic while it's still in the pan and continue to simmer until it as all become a soft paste. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Spread the warm garlic over the toasts and serve immediately. Delicious!
