Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Super easy lemonade to cool you on a hot day.

Course: beverage
Cuisine: American
Keyword: lemon, lemons
Servings: 2 quarts
Author: HelenFern
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup granulates sugar
  • 3-4 large lemons
  • cold water
Instructions
  1. The number of lemons will depend on the type of lemons you use. If they are very thick skinned, you will need at least four. The thin skinned tend to have more juice. I use three to three and half of these.

  2. Put some pressure on the side and give them a couple of rolls on the counter. This will loosen up the juice and make juicing more efficient.

  3. Place the sugar into a 2 quart pitcher.

  4. Next, juice the lemons. If you are using a reamer, place a strainer over the top of the pitcher to catch the seeds. A citrus press will catch them for you.

  5. Stir the juice around to start dissolving the sugar.

  6. Fill the pitcher to the top with cold water. Give it a taste to see if you want more lemons or sugar. We like less sugar and lots of pucker! Chill it off before you serve.

  7. Add ice cubes and lemon slices to a glass and top with the delicious, cooling beverage.
