Super Snacks

It’s Super Bowl weekend!

We don’t watch the game at our house (I know, sacrilege), but I’ve been known to pop in and out trying to catch a commercial. But, that being said, here are a few simple super snacks to enjoy during the game or any time!

super snacks

Pig Balls, Fire balls, bacon wrapped oysters and fried jalapeños – four fast and tasty treats.

Here’s How to Do it:

Let’s start with the pig and fire balls.

Cut the jalapeños into 1/2 inch slices and the pepperoni into 1 inch pieces.

Wrap each in 1/2 of a crescent triangle.

Brush them with butter and

bake at 325° for about 20 minutes, or until each little ball is golden brown.

As long as you have the peppers out, here’s how you do the fried jalapeños

Rinse the peppers and lightly coat in flour while they are damp. Let them dry for about 10 minutes.

Carefully place them into some hot oil and fry for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until the skin blisters and the flour browns. Drain in paper towels or coffee filters.

And now my favorite – Bacon wrapped oysters!

Using 1/2 slice of thick bacon, wrap one of the smoked oysters and lay on the broiler pan, seam side down. Keep going until you’ve done the whole can.

Place them in the broiler and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes, turning once. The bacon should be brown and crispy.

Plate up all the treats and serve with ranch to dip on a super bowl platter!
