Tomorrow is National Cheeseburger day (not to be confused with National hamburger day) – A day to celebrate America’s favorite sandwich! Hamburgers have been around for a long time. There are several ideas of where they came from, but they were introduced to the U.S. at the 1904 World’s Fair – and it was a huge hit! But when did we start adding cheese? Some say it was invented by 16 year-old cook in Pasadena, California – others say it came out of Boulder, Colorado. But the fact remains that it now one of the most popular sandwiches in the United States.
Did you know that 71% of all beef served is either a hamburger or a cheeseburger? And the most popular cheese to use is cheddar. The second favorite is American, followed with a tie for third of Swiss or Blue Cheese.
And so, in honor of the most popular sandwich, we invite you to share a post to your favorite cheeseburger – a recipe would be nice, but not required! The round-up is open from today until Friday (September 17 – 21) so spread the word to your friends!
And let’s have a cheeseburger!
Here are some great cheeseburger ideas!
