Need something for the kids to do on Thanksgiving? While you’re busy prepping all the food, give them a jar to make their own butter. It’s pretty simple and pretty fun!
Check it out!
What you need:
- 1 small baby food jar per child
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream per child
- Small pinch of salt (optional)
How to Do it:
Put the cream in the baby food jar with the salt.
Allow each child to shake, shake, shake – and shake come more! It takes about 20 minutes for the butter to form.
Open the jar and there you have it! Homemade butter!

Really? That easy? I so need to try this (with or without my kids)!
Does it work in a plastic container too? Just because I’m not sure glass containers would last very much in my kids’ hands will all that shaking…
Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned!
It should work in plastic. The original churns were wood.
Thank you Helen for linking up with us at the #BloggingGrandmothers End of the Year Link Party 2018! Party ends January 5, links are unlimited so feel free to add more!
