What do you do when you’ve been gifted with a big bowl of blackberries that are moving beyond their prime? You make jam! These Marion berries were so sweet and delicious and full of juice.
A great way to preserve that wonderful flavor of the blackberries is to make preserves or jam. This recipe is so easy and requires only two ingredients. The blackberries, water and a little bit of sugar! You’ll love it so much you’ll be out picking some more!
This recipe works with most of those summer delicious fruits too!
Here’s How Make it:
Are you ready? This is so easy!
Place the blackberries and water in a pan and bring to a boil.
Stir in the sugar and simmer until the mixture is thick, a little like syrup.
Place in jars or refrigerator containers and screw on the lids.
Allow to cool in the refrigerator before using – and then use it on toast, ice cream or a peanut butter sandwich!!
It tastes great on some homemade blackberry muffins too!
NOTE: This has no preservatives. Be sure to freeze any you can’t eat in a couple of weeks.
